We are pleased to announce 1st Community Bank as our first Community Banking Month winner!

Reading the bank’s submission, their passion for making a difference in the community is vibrant and clear. This bank demonstrates loyalty and commitment to their community by supporting local school and youth initiatives. As evidenced by the touching picture the bank provided, their involvement truly has a positive and meaningful impact on the young individuals they support.

Plansmith is honored to have 1st Community Bank as our client since 2009 and to name them a Community Banking Month award recipient. Thank you for sharing your story; your efforts are nothing short of inspiring!

1st Community Bank has two locations in Mercer County, Illinois: Sherrard and Aledo. A community bank since its charter in 1920, 1st Community Bank continually strives to remain closely tied to the communities we serve.

As part of our ties to the communities, we have a tradition of supporting the local schools. Every year we provide:

- Spring and Fall sports schedules to the community;
- Dictionaries to local third grade students;
- And popcorn bags for all sporting events.

In addition to providing the above items we sponsor different groups including youth baseball, dance, golf, track, wrestling, and basketball.

Our Mission Statement addresses our bank activities and also states we will demonstrate our continued commitment to the community as a responsible partner for growth and quality life.

As a local bank we don’t just “talk the talk” we “walk the walk”.
