I'm thrilled to share a recap of last week’s first-ever Plansmith Forum, which was an incredible success!
Attendance & Experience
We welcomed 21 attendees representing a wide range of leadership and management roles from financial institutions across the country. Hosted at the Renaissance Hotel near our corporate offices in Schaumburg, IL, the event delivered two full days of learning, collaboration, networking, and social engagement with the Plansmith team — and, most importantly, with industry peers.

Engagement & Innovation
Day 1 introduced the newest addition to our Masterclass format and was exceptionally well-received. Guest speakers and attendee discussions sparked meaningful conversations around the future of strategic planning in banking and the next evolution of planning models — all leading to excitement surrounding how these innovations will be incorporated into Plansmith Generation 5 (Gen 5).

Our returning speaker, Dave Wicklund, Director of Plansmith ALM Advisory Services, once again delivered valuable insight as he explored current regulatory considerations and strategies for planning ahead in an evolving banking environment.

Jeff Fink, Chief Solutions Officer at our partner organization, Lumio, also impressed attendees with his discussion on data accessibility, AI, and why a governed, unified data foundation is essential for generating trustworthy insights and enabling responsible AI adoption.
Jim Groark, COO & EVP - Product Development at Plansmith, rounded out the afternoon with a thorough review of our vision for the future, including a guided review of Plansmith Gen 5 and a look at how we’re integrating multi-user access, daily dashboards, and AI to empower your institution.
Compass in Action
Day 2 focused on Compass feature highlights, real-world applications, and peer-to-peer networking. Discussion topics were intentionally selected to help users unlock the full potential of the model, empowering institutions to make smarter, more confident decisions.

Attendees explored advanced tools and techniques while sharing best practices and strategies with one another. Sessions also highlighted the powerful reporting capabilities within Compass that help organizations maintain strategic clarity and focus throughout the year.
