Community Bank & Credit Union Forum: Compass Roundtable March 2016

Thank you to everyone who attended the March 2016 Financial Compass Roundtable!

It’s a great feeling when you’ve learned something you didn’t already know – but sometimes you don’t always know where to look for your answers. Google is great and all, but Google has never been in your shoes. Google doesn’t really know what you need to learn – you just type in some key phrases and hope for the best.

But what is even better than that? I’ll tell you! Learning from your peers, people who’ve been where you are and know where you want to go. That’s the beauty of roundtables and forums! The best part is that those who attend are all there for the same reason: to teach others as well as learn from them, and everyone is on the same page! Communicate with those that are in the same boat. Inspire each other with ideas that you might never have thought of on your own or by searching the web.

We had a great group come in from Illinois and Wisconsin for the latest March 2016 roundtable event. Clients who were both new and experienced Compass users from diverse backgrounds with wide ranges of experience. We spent the day talking about topics of interest to them—from general interests to model specifics. This group was great at sharing thoughts and ideas on ways to enhance one another’s understanding of concepts as well as the model.

Some of our roundtable groups discuss more theory; some emphasize methodologies; some focus on how-tos and mechanics. Each Roundtable experience will be different no matter which type you are attending, so I stress to you, attend as many as you can! Get out there and meet your peers! Talk to each other and inspire each other!

Always look out for that “better tomorrow” because sometimes you can’t get there on your own.

Now for my standard foot note, the Financial Compass Roundtable is fit for a limited audience, our hope is to move around the country so everyone can benefit if they can’t travel to our offices. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on future events but please let us know if you would be interested in a peer group for your region!
